I believe artists "create" based on all of life's building blocks that we amass and the people whose lives we come across. The title of several of my glass designs are named in honor of very special people in my life. My glass designs are a mesh of two of those building blocks. The first is the importance of the visual impact which came from my owning a modeling and promotional agency. The second block is my importance of detail which came from a career in human resources management. My desire to work in glass as a medium comes from the properties that I find in glass itself; it's cool to the touch - slick - textural - sensual. It can be blatenly transparent or elusively opaque. Each creation compels you to touch it. Tim was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and came to Texas in 1975. He received his BBA in International Business at Texas Wesleyan University and his MBA in Human Resources Management from the University of Dallas. Tim spent many years in the corporate world owning a modeling agency and working as a human resources manager. After leaving the private sector, he attended the University of Texas at Arlington in their glass program. During his four years of study, his primary focus was on kiln-formed glass. Soon after leaving UTA, he opened his working studio, T2 Glass, in Fort Worth. He later relocated his studio to the prominent Design District in Dallas, introducing his work to the various art galleries. He signed his artist representation with Art Ability / Gallery 163 and Artisan's Collective. It was also during this time that he was awarded his first prominent commissions for Neiman Marcus and Art Ability. Tim moved T2 Glass back to Fort Worth to balance his very active studio with his appointment of Executive Director in a newly-formed glass school, SiNaCa Studios - School of Glass. | Return Home | What's New | Where I'm Showing | Artist Statement / Biography | Glass Gallery | Great Links | Where I've Been | Contact Us | |
